This policy explains what personal data we process when you use avtoprokat.md, book or rent a car from AvtoProkat.MD, why we process it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It has been prepared in line with Law No. 195 of 25 July 2024 on personal data protection of the Republic of Moldova.

We process data lawfully, fairly and transparently, only for purposes set in advance and only to the extent strictly necessary. We keep data accurate, store it only as long as needed and protect it against unauthorised access, loss or destruction. We can demonstrate compliance with these principles at your request or at the request of the supervisory authority.
First and last name, phone number, email address (if provided), the car you chose, pick-up and return date and time, pick-up place (Chișinău Airport or our office), selected options (for example comprehensive Casco insurance or unlimited mileage), the calculated price and your message.
Your name, phone number, messaging account (WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger, Instagram), email address and the content of the conversation.
Data from your identity document (first and last name, date of birth, citizenship, personal identification number or document number, home address), data from your driving licence (number, category, issue date and driving experience), a copy of these documents where required for the agreement, details of any additional driver, payment and deposit details, the car's condition at handover and return (photos, mileage, fuel level), and information about any accidents, damage, fines or late returns.
Cars in our fleet may be fitted with GPS tracking systems. Where this is the case, we process the car's location, route, speed and mileage during the rental in order to protect the car against theft, check that it stays within the permitted territory and handle incidents. We do not use this data to monitor you for any other purpose.
IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and cookies, as described in the Cookie policy.
We do not request or process special categories of data (such as health data or religious or political beliefs). Please do not include them in your messages.

Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have checked that it does not override your rights. You can object to this processing as described in section 9.
Your identity document and driving licence details are required to conclude the agreement. Without them we cannot rent you a car. Your name and phone number are required to process a booking request. Consent to offers and optional cookies is not a condition for renting.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only as far as necessary with:
Some providers (Google, Meta, Cloudflare) may process data in the European Union, the United States or other countries. Such transfers take place only under the conditions of Law No. 195/2024: to countries with an adequate level of protection or on the basis of appropriate safeguards, such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.
When these periods end, the data is deleted or anonymised.
Under Law No. 195/2024 you have the right to:
Send your request to [email protected] or in writing to our registered office. We reply free of charge within one month of receipt at the latest. In complex cases provided for by law this period may be extended, and we will let you know. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity.
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), limit access to employees who need it, use passwords and individual accounts, keep backups, protect our servers and store paper documents securely. Our staff and providers are bound by confidentiality. If a security incident may affect personal data, we notify the CNPDCP and, where the law requires it, the people concerned.
Our services are intended for people aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.
The site links to Instagram, WhatsApp, Viber, Messenger and Google Maps. They have their own privacy policies, which we recommend you read.
We may update this policy. The current version is published on this page with the date of the last update. If the changes are significant, we will ask for your cookie choice again.
